Find people on the Web with free people search engines, locator tools, and check out my review of good sites to find people for free.
1. Find People with Google
If you're looking for information about someone, one of the best places you can start your search on the Web is Google. You can use Google to find background information, phone numbers, addresses, maps, and more.
2. Find People with Zabasearch
Find people with Zabasearch.com, a free people search engine. You can search by what is available in the public domain for free public access. If you're not comfortable with your information being accessible in Zabasearch, read my article titled How to Remove Personal Information from Zabasearch.
3. Find People with Specific Search Sites
Finding people online is made easier with specialized free people search sites. This article is divided into four sections: Phone Directories, Business Search, Online Obituaries, and Free People Search Sites.
4. Find People with Obituary Searches
You can find nearly anything on the Web; however, obituaries, published daily in nearly every newspaper around the world, aren't so easy to find online.
In fact, since most newspapers do not publish digital archives of their papers online, finding obituaries usually ends up being a (gasp!) offline research task. In this how-to, I'm going to give you a few pointers you can use to start your obituary search on and off the Web.
5. Find People with Blog Search Engines
Blog search engines help you find blogs on the Web on whatever topic you'd like to explore. Search for TV blogs, celebrity blogs, political blogs, photo blogs, and more.
6. Find People with Public Records Information
Looking for public records? I've put together a Top Ten list of where to find the best databases online, from obituaries to declassified CIA documents.
7. Find People with ZoomInfo
ZoomInfo is a free people search engine that scours the Web for information about people, and nothing else. Trying to find people using a general search engine such as Google brings back a ton of results, however, those results can take a while to filter through and they're not always good.
8. Find People with Military Search Tools
If you've ever served in a branch of the United States military and would like to look someone up that you served with, then this list of military databases is for you. Unless otherwise noted, all these resources are free.
9. Find People with a Reverse Lookup
If you're trying to find someone's address or phone number, sometimes the easiest way to go about it is to use a reverse phonebook lookup. Usually, all you have to do is type in someone's phone number, and you'll discover who belongs to that phone number and what their address is (if they're listed, that is).
10. Find People Using Search Engine Tricks
If you're trying to figure out what part of the country a U.S. area code is related to, all you need to do is type in the area code into most any search engine. You can also use the Web to find a Toll Free Phone Directory. You can also check out my list of the Top Ten Basic Search Skills for more ways you can find people on the Web.
